We are pleased to announce that our Human Resources Department has changed its name to People Services. This name change reflects changes in the field of Human Resources and it represents more of what we do to support Participants, in hiring staff, working through staff issues, and providing all the necessary back office processes, to ensure we meet all regulations to employ and pay staff. While the name has changed, the services will continue as usual. In addition to the department’s name change, all staff in the department have also gone through title changes. You will note their title changes in their signature lines, in their emails and all other correspondences from them. Our email contact information has also changed to email@example.com However, we will continue to receive emails at firstname.lastname@example.org during the transition. We have also had a slight change in our Payroll Department’s name. The new name is Payroll Operations. Staff in the Payroll Operations Department will have a title change as well. The email will remain the same as email@example.com.
Learning Management System
In the beginning of the year, we discontinued our partnership with the Mindflash training system we used to complete annual and other agency related training. The reason for our discontinuation is because we have been working on a new Learning Management System (LMS) that will be accessed through our ISS Portal. Currently, we are in the testing stage of the new system. We will provide more specific information when we set a date to go live.
At this time, we do not have a timeframe as to when the Workforce Incentive money will be distributed. However, we can tell you that we are completing all tasks required by the State to be able to receive the monies and distribute it to DSPs. We will provide more specific information when we have it.
Please remember when you are entering a shift in which there are staff overlaps, staff must add a reason note in the event section of eTime for that shift. We are seeing many instances when there are no notes. We are unable to complete our billing process without it. In these cases, our Payroll Operations Specialists will return those shifts that do not have a note. This will ensure staff edit the shift with the necessary information.
Thank you for your attention to these matters. Stay safe!
In other news!
As per OPWDD regulations, all HCBS services utilized outside of NYS need to be within the same scope, frequency and duration as when the service is typically delivered in NYS. In order to comply with this regulation, ISS will no longer be approving the use of Overtime while traveling outside of New York State.
